what’s the difference between men’s and women’s snowboard gear?
i am girl and new to snowboarding but i recently bought a men’s board. i need to get bindings for it but i don’t know if i should get men’s or women’s. i have women’s boots but a men’s board. what’s the best option?

When it is done correctly, women’s gear is very different then men’s based on the differences in anatomy. For instance, women tend to have lower calfs then men and men’s boots tend to dig in for a VERY uncomfortable day for female riders. The last (that is the form which is used to shape a boot) is very different for female feet as the arch, wide point and crux of the foot align differently than they do for a male foot.
Bindings have to be restructured to work well with the boot changes mentioned above. That means different strap shapes and dimensions as well as different base and back contours.
Similarly, the cores on female boards are milled to diffferent specs and have entirely different flex zones and properties. Sidecut, effective edge, running length and weight are all different as well.
This is a great time for female boarders as they finally have gear that can work for them, but some well known companies are WAY behind in this and are still producing “pretty picture” men’s boards for women.
